Trademark registration requirements

To register a trademark, a set of necessary documents and papers must be provided:

  • Clear brand image.

  • Translate foreign phrases; explain their meaning and how to pronounce it.

  • Explaining the meaning of incomprehensible Arabic words

  • Prove the domain (.com) matches and provide a certificate of ownership if the mark includes it.

  • Documenting the date if the mark includes a Hijri or Gregorian date.

  • Certificate of filing if the mark was filed in another country within the last six months

  • Proof of academic degree if the mark indicates a specific academic degree

  • Approval of private names or logos with the submission of the consent of the right holder

  • Proof of identity for family names such as commercial register or national ID

  • Old registration certificate if the trademark has expired and the renewal period has passed
